IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT

The T.I.I.D. is the governing body for the Thetis Island Fire Department, and the organization which is authorized to levy taxes for the support of the Fire Department and First Responders. This is a reference page for contact information, minutes, and some Improvement District documents (the originals are signed and sealed) that community members may find valuable.

Next TIID Trustee meeting: April 15, 2026 at 9:30 AM

There will be an opportunity at the end of the meeting for questions.

The Thetis Island Improvement District (TIID) will be holding its Annual General Meeting and Trustee Election on Saturday May 9th, 2026 at 11 AM at Forbes Hall Community Center.

Trustees Graeme Shelford and Keith Rush terms are up this year and they both will be standing for re-election.

Anyone wishing to seek election as a trustee must obtain an expression of interest form from Anne-Marie Koeppen (gotoannemarie@hotmail.com) and make a submission of interest to her no later than 12 noon on Friday April 3rd, 2026.

If necessary, there will be an advance poll on Saturday April 25th, 2026 at Forbes Hall from 10 AM to 12 noon, in addition to the voting opportunity at the AGM.

To be eligible to stand for the position of trustee and or vote in an Improvement District election you must be a Canadian citizen, 18 years or older, a resident of BC for at least 6 months prior to the vote and own land in the Improvement District.
